Some Important Updates

Hi Tour Participants!

There are three items that I will need you to bring on the first day of boot camp (Monday, June 7th):
  • A black 1" binder
  • A package of clear sheet protectors (these usually come in packs of 100, so you and one other student could split the cost of one package)
  • $17 for the concert in Spain
Please note that two items have been added to our packing list: a combination lock and towels/washcloths.  Please review the updated packing list here to ensure you have all necessary items.

Also, there have been a few changes to the host family arrangements.  The updated host family list can be viewed here.

Sonar Festival Concert at CosmoCaixa!

ANNOUNCEMENT!

We will be attending a performance of Constellations, which is an audiovisual project by Stephan Mathieu and Carolina Mikalef, inspired by the music of Antonio de Cabezon (known as the "Spanish Bach"). The proposal springs from a cross-stylistic and cross-historical musical dialogue between sixteenth century compositions for harpsichord and experimental pieces based on electro-magnetic procedures that expand the natural vibration of the strings. Retaking the collaboration between Sonar festival and CosmoCaixa, the planetarium will turn into an audiovisual observatory for sonic experimentation and real-time multisensory creation.

This INCREDIBLY COOL concert will cost each student only $17, which covers the cost of admission and the bus rental.  Please be sure to set aside $17 to attend this performance.

Students will need to be picked up at the airport upon our return

Dear Parents:

Please be advised that students will need to be picked up from the O'Hare Airport upon our return on Saturday, June 26th.  We are scheduled to land at 7:15 p.m. in Terminal 5, and should be through customs awaiting your arrival around 8:15 p.m.  I will also be blogging when we land, so you could also plan on leaving 15 minutes after you receive an alert from the blog saying that we have landed.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Mr. Miller, Mr. Hornish or Ms. Mullen.

Thank you,
